IMBD story line
When monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.Written by Del Torro
WHAT I LIKED:
This movie takes me back to my childhood watching Godzilla movies, To me this was a awesome action pack monster bash. Huge robots firing missiles, punching the monsters. A great simple story line with a history of the characters. While the special effects where awesome they did not overwhelm the story line. While it was deep Sy-Fy, it felt realistic to me.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
I did not understand why they needed to do a neural bridge of the two human minds to control the robot .you would think that with all that tech they would not need that kind of tech for the oversize massive robots unless it was for the purpose of a deeper story line that would lead to the defeat of the monstrous creatures. That part made sense in the end.
Movie was rated PG-13. I think PG would have been sufficient.
FOUR STAR RATING 4 out of 4, even with the flaws i listed, it was a unbelievable, i truly enjoyed this movie
I did buy the Blue Ray, I truly wished I had the money to see this on the big screen when it came out.
