MOVIE REVIEW: James Bond: Die Another Day

RELEASE DATE: November 22nd 2002

RUN TIME: 2 Hours 13Mins

MPAA RATING: PG-13

FAMILY MOVIE SCALE: 5

MY IMDB SCALE: 8.5

DIRECTOR:Lee Tamahori,

MAIN CAST: Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Rosamund

IMDB STORY LINE
James Bond is sent to investigate the connection between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond mogul, who is funding the development of an international space weapon.

This is one of my favorite Bond films, it has everything, A ton load of action, far out unexplained objects like the mansion made out of ice and the weapon from space. The villains where out of this world and the intense hand to hand combat was awesome. I understand why critics said it was a bit far fetched, but in my opinion, it all fit so well together. The story line flowed so well together. I thought Halle Berry was simply awesome and this was Pierce Brosnan's best bond film.

Ready to Say Good Bye to the Walking Dead?

In Season 8 we said good bye to Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), well now comes word from several reliable sources that Andrew Lincoln will only be in 6 episodes next season before he makes his exit from the popular show. For me and other die hard fans this is devastating. I am sure that fans want the producers and writers to find away to keep the show on for a few more seasons, but why?

In my opinion the show should call it a day and go out on top. Why wait till the ratings drop and risk getting canceled with out a farewell show. As much as I like Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, I don't want them to see them change his character to make him a leader. Now he is a leader but not a Rick Grimes leader. How would the fans like it if Negan some how became the leader?

If they do not end the show in season 9, then they should have a 6 episode final season 10. I am sad about saying this, but I do not see a true happy ending for our favorite heroes. They could have some great tribute shows in the final season. and then have the best ending they can have for the remanding cast members.

I don't want them to keep the show going just to keep the show going. Creativity and creative writing will die and show runners might also say good bye.

I want to see this show end and end strong with Greg Nicotero and company.

MOVIE REVIEW: James Bond: Thunderball

RELEASE DATE: December 22nd 1965

RUN TIME: 2 Hours 10 mins

MPAA RATING: PG

DIRECTOR: Terence Young

MAIN CAST: Sean Connery, Cludine Auger, Adolfo Celi

IMDB Story Line
James Bond heads to The Bahamas to recover two nuclear warheads stolen by SPECTRE agent Emilio Largo in an international extortion scheme.

This was Sean Connery's 4th James Bond film. Again he is saving the world from the Spectre Crime Organization. This was my favorite James Bond Movie with Sean Connery because the action seemed more intense to me and I forgot who Sean Connery was and all I saw was Bond: James Bond.
It was because of his James Bond rolls I became a fan of anything he was in. No other actor does that for me, but the late Roger Moore may come in a close 2nd. Sean Connery was a kind, gentle lethal assassin when he was James Bond especially true in Thunderball.

MOVIE REVIEW: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

RELEASE DATE: November 16th 2001

RUN TIME: 2 Hours 32 mins

MPAA RATING: PG

FAMILY MOVIE SCALE 8.5

MY IMDB SCALE 10

DIRECTOR Chris Columbus

MAIN CAST: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Richard Harris

IMDB STORY LINE:
Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

WHAT I LIKED

This first movie gave me whole NBC Friends feeling, where people stick by each other thick and thin. OK this is more then thick and thin, we have witches, warlocks and wizards ghost and other things that go bump in the night. I really like how the set up the whole education system for witches and wizards. It was a magical organized world

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:
I just did not like Dursley family. I could not understand why they had to hide the boy with that family after the events of Harry's Family. Yes I know his Mom and Mrs Dursley where sisters. But still why them?

TV MEDIA JUNKIE NETWORK IS ALIVE, But with a few changes

My TV Media Junkie has faced many up's and downs since it's start in 2014, but it refuses to die, and keeps coming back to life.

So with that being said I am going to keep it going but with a slight different  direction as before. My aim when I first started this was to see if I could take it professional and I tried different things bufamily moviet the more I tried it fell flat, but I noticed through its ups and downs if I just focused on having fun with the blog and promotions I did it became more popular. So I decided that I don'r care if I ever make a dollar on this project but just talk movies and my TV shows, and not try to watch every TV show or movie ever made.

It became more fun.

I am going to continue wit my template movie reviews and write about my TV shows, but not every episode, just the ones that stand out to me, also I am going to give a scale if a movie is for a family on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a fully recommend family movie.

There will be a few more slight adjustments to movie reviews and I will go back and make edits to the other reviews to bring them to the new standard.

I have had much success when posting my blog post on Instagram but it is taking away from my personal post, so I am going to create a Instagram for the TV Media Junkie only all my movie reviews and select TV shows post over the past 4 years.

I am going to post this on Instagram as my last blog post for that account. I will invite other fan base Instagram account to follow me on the new one as soon as I set it up.

MOVIE REVIEW: Twister

RELEASE DATE: May 10th 1996

RUN TIME: 1 Hour 53 mins

RATED: PG-13

FAMILY MOVIE SCALE: 7

DIRECTOR: Jan de Bont

MAIN CAST: Helen Hunt,Bill Paxton, Cary Elwes

IMDB Story Line
Bill and Jo Harding, advanced storm chasers on the brink of divorce, must join together to create an advanced weather alert system by putting themselves in the cross-hairs of extremely violent tornadoes.

WHAT I LIKED
This was a fun movie, A love story mixed with the weather and disaster. Comedy mixed with a little heartache. Action and drama flying cows and the list goes on.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
To me the experiment they where trying to do had too many unexplained failed attempts. I don't understand why they could not have had a better explanation of the system.

SIDE NOTES
The movie had light sexual innuendos in the first half, but it could still be a family movie, however some people might disagree with that and that is perfectly understandable. Even with it's faults I gave the movie a 10 on IMDB

EVIL Genius: Must Watch NETFLIX

This is one of those documentaries you have to put the phone on silent and put it face down so that you can grasp everything that happens and that is spoken. This story may be more bizarre then the Charles Manson story. I can't Help but wonder if the Saw movie series was not inspired by some of the events that took place in these crimes.

You have the body in the freezer and the mystery of how it got there, and who really killed him. How did the bomb collar get around his neck? Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong was as smart as s crazy. But do we really know if she was the master mind behind this whole story?

However she did find it easy to take advantage of Bob Weller the pizza delivery man that robbed the bank. He also had a prostitute habit. And how does a brilliant smart women let a mental dis-order like Bi-Polar drag her down such a ugly path to personal destruction? I would think it's more like multiple personality disorder or demonic possession,

She was a very good looking women when she graduated from collage, but was very scary looking when she was arrested and her looks became more bizzare as time went on.

The four part documentary gives detailed description of all the crimes, but yet there is no clear definitive answer of  how everything is connected

The is not for family viewing but I can strongly recommend  it as must watch Netflix.

MOVIE REVIEW: Friday Night Lights

RELEASE DATE: October 8th 2004

RUN TIME: 1 Hour 58 Mins

RATED: PG-13

FAMILY MOVIE SCALE 8.5

DIRECTOR: Peter Berg

MAIN CAST: Billy Bob Thorton,Jay Hernandez, Derek Luke

IMDB STORY LINE
Based on H.G. Bissinger's book, which profiled the economically depressed town of Odessa, Texas and their heroic high school football team, The Permian High Panthers.

WHAT I LIKED
What is there not to like? The question that Billy Bob Thorton Character keeps asking his team is "Can you be perfect?" This movie is the perfect sports movie of all timei n my opinion. It shows what it means to be a team and how you can let personal ambitions get in your way in the case of  Boobie Miles. It how parents can be to involved and a fathers support. I don't believe there was any part of the road to a championship that was not covered. IT WAS PERFECT!

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
N/A

SIDE NOTES: While I believe this is a family movie, this can also be a father son movie>I gave this movie a 10 on IMDB

MOVIE REVIEW: Red Planet

RELEASE DATE: November 10th, 2000

RUN TIME 1 Hour 46 Mins

RATED: PG-13

STARS 8

FAMILY MOVIE SCALE 6.5

DIRECTOR: Antony Hoffman

MAIN CAST: Val Kilmer, Carrie-Anne Moss

IMDB Story Line
Astronauts, and their robotic dog AMEE (Autonomous Mapping Evaluation and Evasion), search for solutions to save a dying Earth by searching on Mars, only to have the mission go terribly awry.

WHAT I LIKED
I really liked the the movie made you feel that this was not earth any more and that your all alone feeling, even when the full crew was alive, I liked the believably of the story line and the robot dog. I liked the exploration of the red planet, and the green like bugs they found.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
I was over all pretty happy with the movie, and did nit find any faults worth complaining about.

SIDE NOTES
Movie was rated a well deserved PG-13, this movie could be a great family movie adventure. It can be intense and may scare younger viewers. I gave this movie a 7, while it is a great movie it does not rate with my favorite SyFy movies.

MOVIE REVIEW: Cargo

RELEASE DATE: May 18th 2018

RUN TIME  1 Hour 45 mins

MY TEN STAR RATING 9

FAMILY MOVIE RATING 5.5

DIRECTORS: Ben Howling. Yolanda Ranke

MAIN CAST: Martin Freeman, Anthony Hayes, Susie Porter

NETFLIX Story Line
From the producer of The Babadook, and starring Martin Freeman, comes Cargo. Based on the viral short film, this is the story of a man and his infant daughter who are stranded in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in rural Australia. And when he becomes infected, the countdown begins for him to find her protection before he changes forever.

WHAT I LIKED
I am a fan of Martin Freeman and to see him bring his talents to the post apocalyptic world that closely resembles the Zombie Apocalypse was a treat for me because I love Zombie movies. I did not even know this was a Zombie movie which was even a bigger surprise. Martin did not disappoint me. I really like the ideal of the infected searching for survival methods even when they know they are going to die or turn.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:
There was not much to not like, this was not your everyday Zombie movie, some people may want more zombie involvement, but that would have went against the story line. I myself like more Zombies and Zombie heards, but the story was so strong that would have hurt the story line

SIDE NOTES
This was a Netflix Original and was rated TV-MA, and I can not recommend this as a family movie for intense scenes, but if your family loves Zombies I can recommend it, but it may not be good for young viewers. This movie is not so much about Zombies as it is family survival. I gave this movie a 10 on IMDB.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Stepford Wives (2004)

RELEASE DATE: June 11th 2004

RUN TIME: 1 HOUR 33 MINS

DIRECTOR: Frank Oz

MAIN CAST: Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler Matthew Broderick

IMDB STORY LINE:
The secret to a Stepford wife lies behind the doors of the Men's Association of how women become different and immobilized robots.

WHAT I LIKED

It was a fun movie, quirky and funny and had a basic sit com story line.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE

Even if I knew it was comedy I was expecting a bit more of a dark story line. The story line did not match the dark situation of housewives becoming robots and other far fetched ideals of the movie. It was to much far out stretched SyFy. They had great actors lowing their talents to this type of a story line.

SIDE NOTES: The movie had a rating of PG-13 which was to much, it could have been a PG. While you can watch this moving with the family, I would say this is punishment to watch this on family movie night. I gave a movie a 5 on the IMDB

What if Kylo Kills Rey in Episode IX?

I was talking with friends about my previous post that I wanted Kylo and Rey to hook up and get married, Most of them hated that ideal, but one friend had another plot possibility. What would happen if Kylo killed Rey? I was like no, I don't think so, but the ideal has a sweet spot for me.

Here it is:

"Have Kyle kill Rey, and make a movie where Finn has to lead, even though he’s not a Jedi.
Then have the Resistance search for a Jedi, then they find that kid that used the force to grab that broom in the end of that last movie"

I have a feeling that will not happen because I believe in the next trilogy being developed is not suppose to have anything to do with the Skywalker's depending on what source you read. If that is true Kylo has to die.

I think the trilogy ending has to have a big impact  like Anakin and Obi Wan light saber match and Anakin becoming Darth Vader in Episode III The Return of the Sith And Episode VI Return of the Jedi where Darth Vader dies.Someone will die and it will be sad.

But my imagination is in overdrive with the question if Rey was to die, and lets take it one step more. What if both Rey and Kylo dies?

Rey and Kylo Ren Should Hook Up!

Ok, I will say it again. I want to see Kylo Ren and Rey to get hooked up and fall in love and live happily ever after. I think that would once and for all bring balance to the force and set it up for the next trilogy. In Episode III Revenge of the Sith, What happens? Anakin is betrayed by Darth Sidious and goes to the Darth Side. Episode VI Darth Sidious is killed by Darth Vader/ Anakin and Vader Dies himself.

I really don't want Rey and Kylo to be related and will be upset if they are. But just think of what it would mean if the Dark and Light side where joined in Marriage. I think it would destroy the Dark and Light side like Kylo talked about to Rey in the last Jedi.

With the death of Luke Skywalker in last Jedi, There will be a void and Snoke was also killed making Kylo the Supreme Leader, but Kylo wants something more. I really don't think he is as dedicated to the Force light or dark side. The force to Kylo is a way to power , not about magic tricks or becoming one with the Force and letting it lead him like it did Darth Vader.

Rey may be all powerful but does not seem interested in the Force as Luke or Master Yoda was. There was something different in her training. It was not as hard for her as it was for Luke to believe in the force. Luke always had to have a influence to use the Force from Ben or Yoda. Rey will use the Force as if it's her air to breath, but does not seem to have to focus as hard as Luke.

Therefore It would be perfect match made in galactic Heaven

MOVIE REVIEW: Beyond Skyline

RELEASE DATE: December 15th 2017

RUN TIME: 1 hour 46 min

DIRECTOR: Liam O'Donell

MAIN CAST: Frank Grillo, Bojana Novakovic, Jonny Weston

IMDB Story Line

A tough-as-nails detective embarks on a relentless pursuit to free his son from a nightmarish alien warship.

WHAT I LIKED

Is that it was much better then the 2010 movie Skyline. The movie has a great plot, The actors did a much better job of delivering a story line that you could understand. Action was good. Some of the things I did not like in the first move was done much better.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE

There was some moments I thought that did not needed to be in the film, and slight over acted parts that made you ask why.

SIDE NOTES

This movie was rated R and I thought it could be a PG-13, However it's not a family movie because of intense SY-FY action and violence and slight foul language. Here is a link to my review of the first Skyline, I gave this movie a 6 on IMDB.

MOVIE REVIEW: Tremors 5:Bloodlines

RELEASE DATE: October 6th 2015
RUN TIME: 1 HOUR 39 MIN

DIRECTOR: Don Micheal Paul

MAIN CAST: Brandon Auret, Natalie Baker, Emmanuel Castis, Michael Gross

IMDB Story linert

The giant, man-eating Graboids are back and even deadlier than before, terrorizing the inhabitants of a South African wildlife reserve as they attack from below-and above.

WHAT I LIKED

I loved the monster action, the bugs/worm things did not seem as intense as previous movies but they did send a few chills and very aggressive. I also like that part of the story line of  Burt still surviving the past movies and having his own reality show. for some reason that just seem to fit his character. Yes it was cheesy but it made the movie fun.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE.

Yes I did say the cheesy parts made the movie fun, but the part where Burt was captured and  put in a cage was almost to much for me and I almost turned off the movie. If you can make it past that part the rest is ok. I recommend just fast forwarding past that part. And I though some parts resembled other favorite movies and popular movie franchises.

SIDE NOTES:

The movie was rated PG-13, and that was very fair because monsters eating and killing people.
I can in no way recommend this as a family movie, but if your family loves man eating monsters then by all means knock your self out and enjoy. I gave the movie a 5 on the IMDB rating Scale.

Abby Says Good Bye to NCIS

After 15 seasons Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) will say good bye to NCIS, I hope she is not killed off as suggested in the preview for Episode 22 Season 15 "Two Steps Back", But if that happens I understand why. I am a fan of the show and understand decisions have to be made and life goes on.

No matter what dark situation happened in the NCIS world, Abby was that point of light in the episode. When Abby hurt you hurt, If Abby said it was going to be OK then it was OK. I am confident if the Zombie Apocalypse ever happen on NCIS, Abby would be a light of hope.

It seems on Twitter that Pauley Perrette has that same spark. Yes I know we have drastic different opinions on how the world should work, but I am also thankful that not everyone thinks like me and people like Pauley exist. Sometimes people need to stop watching actions and listen to what the statement is. Pauley does both very well.

Pauley is one of those people that I can disagree with but like to listen to, not to pick a fight but better understand what I am disagreeing with and maybe just maybe change my attitude. We all have to live on this rock together, we should learn how to get along no matter how deep the divide is. And when I say disagree, it does not mean hate. I truly believe that Pauley is a good person.

Pauley's light shined in Abby on NCIS. Her love for People and Animals and all things good found a way on the show.

Pauley Perrette if you are reading this, I will sincerely miss you and all that you brought to the show.
