CuttingThe Cord To Cable

For the Past four years I have struggled with paying the bills, and struggled and struggled and it never ends.  WIth the title of my site you know I love TV, but I love to live also. I like to go out and see movies and maybe see a live show, but I can't because the cable bill swallows my fun budget. Time has come  that me and the family decided to cut the cord and switch to streaming services only and buy DVD's

Cable companies and networks are unfair and they rip people off, I think it is horrible they way you see a station battle it out when a network is dropped from TWC, COX, DISH ATT U-Verse etc as if they care about you , they don't care for your wallet. because they always come back and the cable bill goes higher.

I will still get my entertainment I will just have to wait for a new season on Netflix or HULU or another netstreaming service. I will adjust, it's not the end of the world or the zombie apocalyspe. It will be a adjustment that will sting but when I get out with the family and start enjoying what I have been missing I will survive

My daughter is 20, and when we told her what was going on, she said good we can go back to reading books

Wordsmith: A Rapper with a Positive Message

If you was to look at my I-Tunes, Linkin Park is the only music that would come close to Rap, I am not a Rap music fan. I listen to Rock, and Country and gospel and black gospel, yes black gospel is very special beat all of it's own. It's as if the choir is ignoring the audience and singing directly to God.

But Rap music is not in my I-Tunes, but there is a Rap artist that may soon change that as soon as I can get the money to update my I-Tunes, although he does have free music now and then.

I was on Twitter and happen by chance to see his promotion video, and I am listening to his message and I am thinking to myself, this guy has a ring of truth about him, he is talking to all people, it's not a black or white thing it's a human struggle thing. That just kind of pulled at the heart strings a little. Because I lost my job in 2008 and have found it hard to find a full time job. I now work a lot of temp jobs , but nothing permanent, just enough to keep me off unemployment line. while my life is not his and we have never met, he was talking to me, a white guy in Cleveland.

I am thinking I know this guy, but not really. it's the guy that has a dream that has the determination to make it better for himself and his family. it's the guy that goes to work everyday on the bus 3 hours before he has to be there because he does have a car. it's the guy that works endless hours of overtime and still needs the next paycheck to buy a pair of shoes. It's the guy who does not blame anyone for his problems, he is just gonna work hard and take care of himself because no matter who is in the White House, you still have to get out of bed in the morning and face the day and I truly believe he knows this.

The next thing I did is watch a few videos, and while he is promoting a new one this is the one from 2013 that had the best message for me.

Wordsmith has a indiego campaign going and if I could afford it I would be putting much more then 5 dollars in, because he is worth it, because our kids, friends and neighbors need to here positive music. and he is for all ages and races.

I know this blog talks a lot about violent TV shows and movies and I still will, but the world around us needs some straight talk, and this music provides it.
